Outreach

Day of service
4 times a year we don our t-shirts and set aside a Sunday to go out and provide services to our community. Some pick up trash and rake leaves. Others prepare baskets and bags for the needy and homeless. Then we have dinner for anyone who cares to join us. Please subscribe to receive announcements.

Beverly Hills Civic Association
We host the Civic Association for meetings and events. The church is part of the Beverly Hills section of Upper Darby.

About Civic Associations

1.   What is a civic association?

A civic association is a group of citizens who have voluntarily joined together for collective action on community affairs. In general, its objectives are to preserve, enhance, and plan for the orderly development of their neighborhood and to promote the general welfare, safety and civic spirit of their community.

2.   What are the benefits?

By forming a civic association, we can connect with our neighbors to address issues in our area and to lobby our local government for improvements. Some examples:

                i.         Safety

1.     Continue to lobby for stop signs where they may be needed

2.     Join our neighbors in seeking “Slow, Children” signs to combat speeding

3.     Identify upgrades to worn out or outdated signs

              ii.         Amenities

1.     Restore, and open for use, basketball courts at the Sellers Library property

2.     Lobby for bike lanes in the township

3.     Seek improvements to Naylor’s run park

             iii.         Home improvement

1.     Develop mechanism to share information specific to our housing stock, and tips on good contractors, electricians, plumbers and so on

2.     Undertake neighborhood improvements that increase property values

3.     Provide preservation information and guidelines

             iv.         Schools

1.     Address traffic issues at school opening and closing times

2.     Share information about school property use for events

              v.         Community Cleanups
