Giving to the work of God’s kingdom is —
(1) Priority
8.5 – Giving ourselves “first to the Lord and, by the will of God,” to one another
8.7 – Excellence, overflowing
Honoring the Lord with our “first fruits” (Proverbs 3.9)
(2) Proportionate
8.3, 11 – “According to your means”
Not according to “what you have left over”!
(3) Prayerfully planned
9.1-5 – Bringing words into completed action
Preparation breeds generosity (9.5)
